Patience is a Virtue!

My dear sweet Lyxi taught me a lesson today!!!

We were having one of "those" days where every child in the house was fighting, crying, or both!! I was at my whits end and Lyxi said to me, "Mom, have patience with me!" I stopped at that point and realized that the Lord was speaking through her and saying what I needed to hear!

Tayahna's First Birthday!

Tayahna is 1! I can not believe it! It seems like I was just in the hospital holding her tiny body in my arms! Now she is 18 lbs and walking all over the place! Time sure does fly! She is such a GOOD baby I can not complain! She has her moments but over all she is happy, smiling, and mello! She really is just content with everything around her, she smiles and laughs, but you have to try really hard to get her to full on giggle! She can say mamma, dadda, hi, up, and uh oh! We love you so much Tayahna and are so glad you came to join our family! We couldn't imagine life without your sweet smile! We love you!

We just had family for the party! We opened presents and had cake and ice cream! Thanks to all of the family who came. We love you guys!

The #1 cake she got to eat all by herself!! She enjoyed it way too much! The teddy bear princess cake was for everyone else to eat!

Opening presents with daddy!

Lyxi enjoying her cake and ice cream!

Jaden being a dork!!! :)

Lyxi's Dance Recital!

Lyxi had her very first dance recital! It was about the cutest darn thing I have ever seen! She was sooo EXCITED! She wanted to wear her costume all day kept asking and asking! Her recital could not have come any slower to her! She was ready when she woke up in the morning!

She loved every minute in the spot light. She was in the 2-4 year old age group and remember she is only 2! She had two dances, one for ballet and one for hip hop! She danced to "When Somebody Loves you" for ballet and to Phineas and Ferb, "Gitchee Gitchee Goo" for hip hop! I just loved every second she was up on stage, those moments that just melt your heart!
For the most part she danced the whole way through! She did get side tracked a little but the whole thing was just adorable! We were proud parents!

Katie and Sam and the boys came to watch her! It was so cute!

Grammy and Grandpa came all the way up for it too! Stefanie and her kids and Sheri and her kids came as well! We are so grateful that they drove all the way for her performance! There is nothing better than family that loves to come and support you even if it is just a little dance recital!

Buffalo Hunt!

Here we go...... Brad puts my name in for all of these hunts and apparently I am pretty lucky and draw out for some pretty cool hunts! Do I LOVE hunting? It is not my favorite thing to do, but I do LOVE being with Brad and enjoy seeing the beautiful country and I love seeing how excited Brad gets when we kill something! So the story goes..........

It was our second day of hunting and it had just snowed the night before. We were told that there were two bulls down in this area on the refuge! On the refuge you can only enter one entrance and you lave to exit at that same place. So that makes it tricky. So we head out at about 1:30 in the afternoon and Andy Misner was with us! We started walking up these crazy hills with about 6 inches of freshly fallen snow on the ground! We hunted looking for tracks and weren't having very good luck so after about 6 miles we decided it was getting late and we were going to head for the truck! We start heading out and we get to the road and there was HIS track! We hesitated because it was getting late but Andy said he came all this way and he wanted to see some action! So we followed it for about an mile and he was crossing over the river and he would come back across! So we see some fresh sings and were getting excited. We go about another 25 yards and we drop to the ground. He was right there in front of us! He saw us but didn't seem to care! So I got ready and had to wait for him to turn. He finally turned and I shot one shot and he walked about 5 yards, he was hurt but not dead! So I shot again and he dropped to the ground! It was quite a rush and we were all pretty excited! It was almost dark and Brad was up to his shoulders when he was gutting out that buffalo. He was HUGE!

So we get it gutted and have to go all the way back to the truck in the dark, it was interesting! It took Dave, Dwayne, Brad, Melissa, and myself to pack that thing out of the refuge. You only have certain access roads that will get you close to where you shot it but you can not drive right up to it! So we got as close as we could and had to drag that thing in quarters to get it back to the truck! We were all exhausted by the time we were done! It was quite the experience and it was fun!!

Christmas 2010

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year! It was filled with so many things that reminded us the true meaning of Christmas! I don't know why, but this time of year Brad is really busy with work but I told him he would be in serious trouble if he missed Christmas again this year! He did everything in his power to be home and he DID make it home Christmas Eve, just in the nick of time! He was so happy to be HOME!

This Christmas the kids were old enough to understand the whole concept! Brad and I were so excited for them, we could hardly stand it! Sadly, we were too busy with the video camera that these are all of the pictures I got that day :( But the kids woke up around 7:30 which wasn't bad, we had to go and make sure that Santa actually came, and the kids couldn't wait they were bouncing off of the walls!

Tayahna just enjoyed her surroundings and chewed on everything in her way! She is such a cutie!
Santa gave her an alphabet train and she loves it even to this day!

Lyxi got a kitchen and she LOVED it! She made everyone dinner and didn't want to stop playing it long enough to open her other presents! She was so funny! She loved every minute of Christmas Day!

Santa brought Jaden a snowmobile! Jaden was soooo EXCITED! He begged and begged and begged Santa for one, so we looked around and Santa must have found one that was affordable, thank heavens)! But it was great to see how much he loved it!
We had a great time spending time with each other and being reminded of what Christmas is all about! We also made chocolates with the Whites this year, which is always fun! We made Patizza with my family which we love as well! We started a few of our own traditions and overall had a great Holiday season!!!

Jaden is 4

Jaden wanted a dragon birthday so that is what he got! We just had a family party opened presents and ate cake! Then we all went to the Aquatic Center and swam! It was really fun!
On his actual birthday he was at school so we brought him some balloons and a stuffed animal and he thought that was about the coolest thing! He is such a funny little man!

This is his dragon cake that was so fun to make! he was right by my side helping every second, he loved it!
Jaden we are so proud of you! We love that you are such a good big brother! You help so much and you are so protective of your sisters! I love that! You are learning so much in school! He can say all of ABC's and can recognize almost all of the letters when put in front of him! He can write his name and is a little sponge! He loves to learn. He always wants to help me clean or do what I am doing! He LOVES his snowmobile and is a wild man riding it! He has a great sense of humor and is always making people laugh! He won't let us go a day without reading the scriptures. He plays so well with Lyxi and is a great example to her! Jaden, we love you so much and are so glad you are such a good boy and that you are 4 years old!!! We LOVE YOU!!!

Catching Up!

This post may seem a little unorganized, but if I don't get this done with what I have then it will never get done..... so here goes! This year has been a wonderful year filled with many memories that we will never forget! Two things in particular are very high on that list of memories! I am a very proud sister-in-law!

The first one is Melissa's wedding! She got married April 10th 2010! She looked absolutely amazing and was shining with happiness as she walked down the aisle. Besides that she got married in Vegas, which was a great excuse to go and have a fun time! She got married in a beautiful place that overlooked a lake and it was warm and had beautiful flowers! It was really a great time to be there with them on their special day! We enjoyed spending every minute there in Vegas! Plus I got to do her hair and that was fun to be back with her while she was so excited and ready to make such a big step in her life! And Andy was a great addition to the family!!!

And we would like to welcome Matt and Jessie McGuiness! It has been fun to see Jessie grow up as an adult and take on the role as a wife! We are so proud of the decisions she has made since she has been married! She got married April 27th 2010! It is so fun to see the family expand and get bigger! She looked amazing as she walked down the aisle and said the "I Do's" in a gazebo! It was really beautiful and all of the family was there! I also got to do her hair and it was so fun to spend that time with her! Matt is a great guy and we are excited to see little McGuiness' run around! ;) I am so sad I don't have a picture of the both of them :( But we love you both so much and are proud of both of you!
