Kids Say The Darndest Things!

Jaden has become quite the communicator. He says things that just floor me and Brad. We just have to sit back and laugh. Here are some of those stories.....

It was about 8:00 at night and Jaden was watching cartoons on our bed. Without shutting the TV off, I grabbed him and we did the bedtime thing. I shut his door and went downstairs. One and a half hours later Brad came home and said, "Where is Jaden?" I said, "He should be in bed." So I went to look for him and the little stinker had snuck out of his bed and was watching TV in our room for almost 2 hours. So I proceed to put him back in bed. About ten minutes later I hear a pitter patter on the floor, so I go upstairs and he ran out to the kitchen, got himself a bagel and ran back to bed before I got upstairs. I guess he was hungry! Brad and I had to laugh because he is so sneaky.

Jaden was at Grandmas house with Sammy and Colby and they had all the lights off downstairs. They would grab their flashlights and go downstairs to look for monsters and ghosts. They would scare themselves and run back upstairs and Jaden would yell, "Monsters, Ghosts!" Sammy and Colby would scare each other and Jaden wouldn't dare go as far as his cousins because it was too scary. So after that experience he loves to grab his binoculars, look out the window and say, "I see monsters, hurry get down." So he gets down on all fours and "hides" from the monsters. It is pretty cute!

The other day I accidentally scratched his face, he looked at me and said, "Say sorry Mom!" Like, Hello Mom, what are you thinking. So I said sorry, and then he said, "It's okay mom!" He is getting quite the mouth on him! He has learned the "Shut Up" word and we are having to deal with that one already. He is like a sponge and now more than ever Brad and I are having to watch what we say.

Out in our front yard there is a pheasant(rooster) and some hens that run around. Jaden loves to look for them.Jaden loves doing anything with his Daddy. Since Daddy loves hunting so much we taught him all of the animal sounds including an elk, (which is so cute to hear). The first time he had ever seen the rooster, the first thing that he said was, "I need my gun!" Brad and I just about had a heart attack! It was hilarious.

Jaden can speak spanish from watching Diego and Dora! He loves Diego. He can say, "ayudame" which is help me, he can say "sube" which is climb, and he can say "arescate" ( I don't know how to spell it, but bear with me) which means rescuer. He can say a few numbers in spanish as well. He is such a smart little guy!

Alyxis has become little miss destructo. I can not leave the toilet paper on the dispenser because she unrolls the whole entire roll and then leaves. She likes to make the mess, but not be in it! She is always in the toilet, because she has a brother, so we are constantly having to shut the bathroom door. Lyxi can not leave my plant alone. All of the leaves are completely gone on the bottom half. We had to move the plant.
Lyxi has quite the little attitude already. She throws her little fits and then is fine. She can not stand it when Jaden gets too close to her. Jaden just tries to love her a little too much. So she always bats him away when he gets close.
Lyxi is just now getting teeth and she is two weeks away from being one year old. She is pretty good about gumming everything, it just has to be in small pieces. So now she had her two bottom teeth, Yeah!!
***Some things I have learned from my bay girl*****
Life should be relaxed and mellow, slow down.
A smile can brighten any ones day.
Everything is better with food :)
It is fun to be girly, wear bows, and do hair (even though she only has a little to work with).
A mothers love is unconditional!

Easter Fun!

I love this time of year, to reflect on what our Savior did for us! Because of him I have a beautiful family and a great husband! I am truely greatful for His atoning sacrifice for me.

We had a great weekend! We colored easter eggs on Thursday. That gave us a new meaning to "color." We gave Alyxis one egg to play with and by the end she had it destroyed and color all over everywhere! It was all over the floor, the countertop, and themselves. Jaden was old enough to get what was going on and he had a blast. He colored the eggs and by the end he was blue from head to toe!

We woke up on Sunday and had a yummy breakfast and the kids got presents from their grandmas! The Easter bunny didn't come until after church (which is at 1:00)! We wanted to take Easter pictures, but by the time we got home from church the kids were both asleep. So we waited for them to wake up and Jaden was so excited that the Easter bunny finally came, and we forgot to take pictures. He loved collecting the eggs and he got all of them by himself. Alyxis just had fun playing with the eggs! My mom made Lyxi's easter dress and it was so cute! (Grandma Chris got her a beautiful dress that she wore prior to Easter, but in our hast to do everything we didn't get the picture taken:(

But here are a few pictures of our weekend!

Midnight Catastrophe!

This trip was not really a catastrophe, it was quite the adventure!! The weather was windy and cold most of the time. But there was one nice day and we loved it. So here is the story. The first day we played around on the dock and fished while Zane got the details of his new boat worked out! While we were playing on the dock, Jaden was playing with the rope, I was right next to him and all of the sudden I heard a SPLASH! I looked over and saw that he was in the water kicking and screaming! He was just far enough away that I could not reach him..... so I had to jump in and save him. I couldn't really feel the water because I just wanted to save my baby! Leave it to Jaden to fall off the dock!

The next day we wanted to boat down to the dam, which was 100 miles down shore. We got a late start, we took a nice hike to see the beautiful arch. Te day was warm and wonderful. We get down to the dam and decide to eat at the restaurant. So we ate and then thought we better start heading back because it was late. SO we get about 5 miles away and Brad's fishing boat goes into safety mode and we can't go anymore. So we all jump in Zanes boat and have to tow Brads boat with Zanes. At this point it is 10:00 at night. So we trudge along in the dark (thank heavens for modern technology) we tracked our course on the way over and then were following it on the way home. So we finally get all the kids asleep, there were bodies everywhere. The boys were up on the deck to help navigate in the dark. When going that slow and having the shell on it, there were terrible fumes coming from the motor, and all of the sudden the alarm goes off for the carbon monoxide. So we open the windows and all felt a little better as the alarm goes back to normal. So the fumes were still terrible above deck, and the boys start not feeling well at all. To add to the drama, there was Jeff and his family following us in his boat on the way home, and they run out of gas!!! Holy Cow, so were hooked him up to the back of the fishing boat, and Zane pulls two boats with his. When we were hooking up Jeffs boat, Zane had to lay down because he was not feeling well, Brad was chumming the fish, and Shane was not making any sense. It was crazy, I think Jeff ran out of gas at the right time (there was a divine intervention) because the boys had to get out of the fumes before it was BAD!!! Needless to say, we made it safely and are grateful for that!

Despite what had happened most of it is funny now that we are looking back, it wouldn't be a vacation without drama. We all had a blast and are planning another trip when the weather is better.

So thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for a fun vacation. We loved it and can't wait to go again!!
