Ahhh, LOVE!

Every Valentine's Day growing up my mom always made the cutest breakfast. She decorated the table so cute, she made us pink heart shaped pancakes, and got us Valentines gifts. Growing up with four sisters, as you can imagine, we loved it! So we all carry on this tradition.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Lyxi Lou!!!

Alyxis is a crack up! I hardly go a day without laughing out loud at something she does! She is at the age where she needs to be "confined" as my brother in law would put it! Haha! She leaves a trail of crap everywhere she goes! I can tell exactly where she has been. She has a mind of her own and is very stubborn. She is going to be the death of me, I swear :) She keeps me on my toes that's for sure. But I love her and she brings so much happiness into our home.

She was at my sisters house and she got the dog bowl and one scoop at a time emptied the toilet water completely. I have no doubt that she probably drank a little as she went too! EEEEWWWW! She will even tell you that she is "The Boss" and says, "I'm a mess" and "I'm cute." But we love her, we just have to keep our eyes on her!

She is getting used to the fact that she is no longer the baby. She actually loves to hold her and kiss her, which is pretty cute. She is going to be a great big sister. She absolutely loves her Daddy, it melts my heart to see! I can't wait to see what the year ahead will bring us! We love you Alyxis!

Ice Cream Sanwich!

My dear sweet Jaden is so adorable! This is his funny story.............................

We were all downstairs and we asked Jaden to go upstairs and get three ice cream sandwiches in the outside freezer. Jaden who jumps at the chance to have ice cream ran upstairs. We thought nothing of it and went on with our business. After about ten minutes I told Brad to go check on him and make sure he wasn't locked outside. So Brad goes upstairs and yells for me to do the same! I thought something was wrong, so I run upstairs. We find Jaden with the tub of ice cream and two slices of bread! He was literally making an ice cream sandwich! Haha! We were laughing so hard. We told him to go get an ice cream sandwich and that is what he did. You forget that kids don't get the "slang" so to speak! The funny thing is, he actually ate the sandwich, eeewwww! But he is so funny.

The other day Brad asked Jaden to go get a butter knife and an apple for him. He comes back with actual butter on a knife and an apple. He is so clever. Jaden sure knows how to bring laughter and joy into our house! He has such a sweet heart and shows that he loves us every day! He is actually being quite the BIG brother now. He will take care of Lyxi if she is hurt and give her hugs and kisses when she needs them. He also sings to Tayahna and lays with her and tells her how much he loves her. It is heart breaking how cute it is! Thanks Jaden for being the protector over your sisters and for being the best brother a sister could ask for!

I feel the need to express thanks to everyone who has thought, prayed and helped us out these last couple of weeks. It has been a rough go around but I think everything is on the mend. Until recently I don't think we have ever NEEDED as much help as we have received lately. So I am very grateful for everyone!

I am grateful for my wonderful husband who has never been as much help as he has been right now. He is so much fun to have around the house. He lightens the mood whenever he is around! Believe it or not he has been, I don't want to call it sensitive (because that will hurt his manhood), but he has been in tune to what I need and has been there to do it for me. He has even got up in the night to help with the kids, which I am so thankful for. I love this man so much and don't think I say it enough! He is a great man that is devoted and a great father. So thanks babe, I love you so much!

I want to thank my parents as well. With Lyxi's arm, me having the baby, and then Tayahna getting RSV, my parents were there every step of the way. They watched the kids for us, they drove to help us, they stayed with us, they cooked for us, and most importantly, they supported us through everything that has gone on. I just want to tell them how much I appreciate their help and love that they have shown us. I love you guys.

An update: Tayahna is doing much better. After 4 days in the hospital, they sent us home with oxygen and a nebulizer. She is still on oxygen and it has been over a week since it started, but she is definitely recovering and feeling much better. My heart breaks for her because that was the scariest thing that has happened to our little family. She couldn't breath, she was poked and had a spinal tap (which they had to poke her 4 different times because they couldn't get it), she had to have multiple IVs, breathing treatments, blood work and the list goes on. I am just so grateful to my Heavenly Father that she is doing much better. I could not have done it without the prayers and support from everyone, so thank you! More pictures to come!!!!!

It's A Girl!!!

We are so happy to announce the birth of our sweet baby GIRL!!! Tayahna Faith White, born 1/21/10 at 11:08 am! She weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and was 18 inches long! She is healthy, strong and beautiful!

Sorry for those of you who do not want details but I am going to print this one day and am using this as a journal, so I can't say I didn't warn you! With baby #3 we decided to be surprised, which was the neatest experience we could have had! We were so anxious and excited to know what we were going to have! It was as if Heavenly Father handed her down to us straight from heaven and I especially felt so blessed to have experienced that wonderful feeling!

The labor could not have gone any better than it did. Doctor George induced me at 38 weeks because he knew it was only a matter of time before she was going to come, which as you could imagine, I was SO grateful for! The other doctor would not induce me that early, but doc George did not want me to have a baby in the canyon during mid winter, and he knew I was dialating and effacing so he gave us the go ahead! So we got to the hospital at 6:00 am on the 21st. They got me all ready and broke my water and gave me petocin by 8:00 that morning, and by 11:00 she was born. Doctor George said he was so grateful that we induced when we did or I probably would have had her in the canyon if I would have gone naturally because she came so fast being induced. Doc George said it was almost record breaking time!

So here comes details..... The nurse checked me and I was at a 5/6 dialation. By that point I got up and it hit me. They gave me a shot for pain, but I could not handle the pain anymore so I said I want an epidural (especially if I still had three hours to go). So I said I would go to the bathroom while I was up and then get the epidural. So I went and sat down and all of the sudden I NEEDED to push! I yelled for the nurse, she ran in and helped me back to the bed. They called the doctor to come and I was pushing at this point. The nurse said try to breath through the contractions if you can and I looked at her like she was crazy! So the doctor comes flying in, and I told him I needed more pain stuff, he looked at me and said, "Sorry Kristi, you are about to have a baby! He was barely able to put his over coat on (he did not even have a chance to tie it up) and he told me to push twice and there SHE was.

We are so excited to have Tayahna be apart of our family! It is amazing how you can love someone the moment you see them!

So sweet! Tayahna is such a good baby thus far! I am grateful to have such a mello baby, especially since I have two other children to tend to as well.

Jaden with his new sister! He really wanted a boy but was so happy to hold her when she came home! It was pretty cute. He kept calling her Tiawana, haha but now he has it down pat!

Tayahna gave them both presents when she got home from the hospital. This was as close as Lyxi would get to holding her. She was pretty jealous, but now she is much better and loves her baby!

I wanted to thank all of those who helped with everything and brought in meals and for your thoughts and prayers! I especially want to thank my mom and dad for being there and helping me with the kids. I know they went way out of their way to help. I love you guys so much and couldn't ask for better grandparents for our kids!

This Christmas was a bitter sweet one for our family! Brad was not able to be there for Christmas which was really hard, but we missed him terribly and know that he was dying inside because he wanted to be there just as much as we wanted him there! On a better note, we got to spend Christmas at my moms house which was so much fun. We decided that for one last Christmas everyone would spend it all together as one big happy family! We had so much fun being all together celebrating the birth of our Savior!


We had a great Christmas Eve dinner. My Dad cooked us prime rib which was awesome! Then after we ate we decided to get food, toys and clothes for 2 families that we thought we could help. The best Christmas's that I remember are the ones where we did service. We had such a great time getting things ready and dropping everything off and running. The kids had fun helping and it was a great teaching experience for them. I am so grateful for our Savior and the sacrifices he made for me and my family. Christmas was a great reminder of that!

Jaden got some fun things from Santa and had to try them on! He had a blast with all of his cousins and loved opening his presents. He got a leapster from Santa and was so excited to get it!

Alyxis is into babies so Santa knew to bring her a nursery set. She absolutely loved it. I was so disappointed though, it was not built well, but she loved it non the less.

Lyxi also loves backpack! She calls Dora, Diego which is harder to say, but she will not say Dora. It is pretty cute. She loved every minute of opening presents and lasted the whole time.

This picture is classic. Sheri ad Brian gave them pajamas for Christmas and they got to open them Christmas Eve. They were hilarious and were good sports. Melanie and Valerie got cool jammies too! They all looked so cute!

Brad was able to show up Christmas night, which we were so grateful for. He hadn't slept in a long time but he drove all the way to Green River to be with us! I sure love that man. He is such a trooper. So for Christmas we all got dutch oven stuff. So the next day we decided to all make a dish and learn the ropes. It was so fun and we ate like kings too!

My mom, dad and Val on Christmas morning! I was so grateful for my parents for helping me with everything. My dad helped Jaden open all of his presents while I helped Lyxi and my mom ran the video camera for me! You guys are awesome!

Oh Man, Round 2!!!!

Poor Alyxis!!!! This was probably one of the worst things a mother can experience with her child, a broken arm. I know some of you who are reading this are thinking, "Didn't Jaden brake his arm too?" and the answer to that question is yes he did. My track record as a mother is not looking that great! Both Jaden and Alyxis broke their arms around 18 months old. Jaden had to be sedated to set his arm back in place, which was horrible!!!! Alyxis on the other hand did not need to be sedated, but the whole situation seemed a lot worse, here is the story......

We were at Grammy and Grandpa's house playing with the cousins. The favorite toy at Grammy's house is (believe it or not) a mattress. They love to jump and play on that thing. It is quite entertaining to watch how much fun they have. They put it on the stairs, jump off of the couch onto it, or find interesting ways to jump on it. Well this particular time, they were jumping off of the coffee table onto the mattress. So you can imagine it is not that high of a drop off. Well, Alyxis is crazy and jumps and plays just like here brother, so she jumped and there it was. We couldn't figure out why she would not stop crying, so we looked her over and she held her arm out and would not move the other one, so we knew something was wrong. We took her to the clinic in Green River and they couldn't get a good x-ray because she was in so much pain. They knew it was broken but they were worried that there was a floating bone fragment in her arm which required surgery, so they sent us to Primary Childrens Hospital to get a Pediatric Orthopedic surgeon to look at it. So we loaded Lyxi up at about 7:00 pm and headed to Salt Lake City. We got there, my mom came with me which I am soooo grateful for (I love you so much MOM, you are the best. Brad was working in North Dakota, so he was a long ways away. Lyxi was in so much pain and I was just a wreck, I cried ALOT. I felt so bad for her. But we get there and eventually they gave her morphine for the pain, which was also horrible because she hated getting the IV in her little hand. But that helped a bunch with her pain. So they took x-rays and found that there was no floating bone fragment but the doctor said it wasn't bad enough to say she for sure did need surgery but it wasn't great enough that she didn't need surgery. So it was a good thing they sent us down there to make sure everything was ok. So the pediatric orthopedic surgeon came in and he was pretty convinced that with time Lyxi's arm would heal correctly and that if that was the case, she would not need surgery. I was sooo relieved to hear that. She had already been through such an ordeal already. She ended up breaking her suprachrondular bone. Which means right above her elbow. They gave her a soft cast for one week and then we had to come back to Salt Lake City and get her hard cast on which she wore for an additional 4 weeks. Her arm did end up healing without needing surgery, which was wonderful!

Alyxis adjusted well to having the cast, and I am so proud of her for being so tough! She was a trooper through it all. It is a whole other story about getting the cast off, but we won't go into that. Let's just say I hope one day we will get a good Doctor in Pinedale!!!! But things went great after the cast came off!

Mind you it was about 2:00 in the morning, and yes, I do look pretty scary!
